Aluminum Alloy Flagpoles (6063-T6)

Tapered conical aluminum shafts with anodized or powder-coated finish, from 6 m to 20 m. Light to install, low maintenance and suited to schools, campuses, commercial buildings and public landscapes.

Material

The practical choice for most commercial installations

Aluminum weighs roughly a third of steel for the same shaft, which changes crane time, foundation load and installation cost. The 6063-T6 alloy is spun and welded into a seamless tapered cone, then anodized for a finish that does not need repainting.

  • Alloy: 6063-T6 seamless tube, CNC spun to a continuous taper with no visible weld line.
  • Finish: anodized (natural, bronze, champagne, black) or powder-coated to a project RAL reference.
  • Anodizing: oxide layer of approximately 20 microns as a sealed film against weathering.
  • Assembly: internal halyard with stainless fittings, or electric drive for taller installations.

Diameter, taper and wall thickness are confirmed against the design wind speed for each project. Aluminum poles above the standard range are quoted as engineered structures rather than stock items.

Configuration

What is decided on every order

Spun taper

One-piece spun cone with continuous taper; no longitudinal weld to open up under UV or salt exposure.

Anodized finish

Natural, bronze, champagne or black anodizing; powder coating available to a specified colour reference.

Accessories

Cast aluminum or stainless finial, stainless cleat, revolving truck, flag snaps and counterweight.

Export packing

Each shaft wrapped in protective film and packed in a wooden cradle to avoid handling damage in transit.

Applications

Typical installations

Most aluminum flagpoles we ship are 9 m to 15 m campus and commercial installations with manual halyard operation.

  • Schools, colleges and universities
  • Corporate campuses and office parks
  • Retail and hotel frontage
  • Residential developments and public landscapes
  • Sports grounds and training facilities
Questions

Frequently asked about aluminum alloy flagpoles

Will an anodized pole fade?

Anodizing is a conversion of the aluminum surface rather than a coating, so it does not peel or chalk in the way paint can. Colour stability under UV is the main reason we recommend anodizing over painting for outdoor poles.

Can aluminum poles be used at coastal sites?

Yes, with the correct grade and stainless fittings. The anodized layer and 6063 alloy resist salt atmosphere well; the fittings and fasteners need to be stainless rather than zinc-plated.

How is the pole fixed to the foundation?

A welded base plate with a gusseted sleeve, anchored by cast-in bolts to the reinforced concrete foundation detailed for the project. Anchor bolt templates are supplied.

Can I order a non-standard colour?

Powder coating can be matched to a RAL or project colour reference. Anodizing is limited to the standard colour range shown in our sample set.
