Stainless Steel Flagpoles (SS304 / SS316L)

Seamless stainless steel shafts with mirror, satin or brushed finish for civic buildings, hotels, plazas and coastal projects. Available from 6 m to 60 m as standard, with manual or electric operation.

Material

Chosen when the pole must still look correct in twenty years

Stainless steel is specified where appearance and corrosion resistance outweigh initial cost. We manufacture from seamless tube with a continuous taper, so the shaft has no visible weld line along its length.

  • Grade selection: SS304 for inland sites, SS316L where chlorides, salt spray or industrial atmosphere are present.
  • Finish: mirror polish, satin, brushed or project-specific; surface is passivated after polishing.
  • Salt spray: finishes tested beyond 5,000 hours in neutral salt spray for coastal specification.
  • Taper and wall: continuous taper with wall thickness selected against the design wind load, not a fixed sheet.

Diameters, wall thicknesses and base plate dimensions are set by structural calculation for each site. We issue the approved drawing before production rather than quoting a fixed dimensional sheet.

Configuration

What is decided on every order

Questions

Frequently asked about stainless steel flagpoles

Is SS316L necessary?

For coastal sites, high-chloride environments or where the client requires a marine grade, yes. Inland and low-exposure sites are normally specified in SS304 without a practical difference in service life.

What is the difference between mirror and satin finish?

Mirror polish reflects the surroundings and hides less surface irregularity, while satin and brushed finishes show handling marks less and read as a more matte architectural surface.

Can the pole be delivered in sections?

Above roughly 24 m the shaft is normally shipped in two or three sections with internal sleeves and site welding or bolted flange jointing, depending on access at the site.

Do you supply anchor bolts and templates?

Yes. Anchor bolts, templates and embedded parts are supplied with the pole so the civil contractor can cast the foundation to the correct setting-out.
